The role:
Laser Operative

Are you a Laser Operative that has worked in the aerospace industry and looking for a new challenge?

A fantastic opportunity has become available for a Laser Operative to join a well-known Manufacturing business in Sheffield.

Working Hours: 2 shift pattern

Salary:
£28, % shift allowance

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set laser cutting fixtures to machine datum's
  • Perform laser cutting operations of the components manufactured
  • Check laser cut components to drawing specifications and ICY fixtures
  • Understand machine parameters and check against data cards
  • Maintain standard of all fixtures associated with Laser process
  • Maintain continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, etc.
  • Ensure products are to the correct tolerances and meet customer as well as internal standards and specifications (NADCAP and AS9100 standards)
  • Keep equipment operational by completing autonomous maintenance and calibration requirements
  • Know and understand company and department policies and safety procedures
  • Report to work on time, follow instructions from supervisor or management, interact well coworkers, understand and follow work rules and procedures
  • Other duties as assigned, requested or needed.

Skills & Experience:

NVQ/qualification in Engineering discipline is desirable.

  • Proven track record in a Laser operating position minimum 3 years, preferably within Aerospace sector is essential
  • Trumpf machine experience is desirable
  • Basic understanding of lean principles (5S) is desirable
  • Experience of working to production targets is essential
