St Georges Lodge Residential Care Home are seeking to recruit a Cleaner to join our enthusiastic team.


As an independent residential care home providing kind, compassionate care to 26 residents, we are looking for people who can work as part of a team to maintain a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene within the care home, whilst ensuring a safe, comfortable environment at all times.

Hours of work are 5 hours per day

Working:

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Maintain the highest standards of efficiency and cleanliness within all areas of the care home.
  • Regular cleaning of residents' rooms
  • Regular cleaning of lounge and hallways, other communal areas and office areas.
  • Damp dusting, mopping floors and vacuuming as necessary
  • Regular cleaning of bathrooms and toilets including scrubbing and descaling baths and tiles, clearing plug holes and taps descaling showerheads, removing soap and cleaning around light switches and door handles etc.
  • Ensure all rubbish bins are emptied on a daily basis
  • Occasional cleaning of doors, windows and other areas as required.
  • Clean spillages as required.
  • Maintain cleaning equipment, including keeping cleaning equipment clean and informing the Registered Manager when equipment or stocks require replacement.
  • Ensure that cleaning materials, chemicals and substances are properly and safely used and stored at all times.
  • Ensure all duties are carried out in accordance with health and safety regulations.
  • Adhere to policies and procedures within the Home.


As experience is desirable and not required, we welcome applicants who are new to care and will support and provide all training and mentoring to individuals with limited or no experience.


The successful person will be motivated, reliable and willing to work as part of a team to help deliver outstanding service to the residents of St Georges Lodge.


  • Enhanced DBS and references will be required.
  • Rates of pay £11.44 per hour.

  • 5.6 weeks holiday per year pro rata.
