Mechanical Engineering Degree Apprentice at Leonardo

This role calls for a motivated individual who thrives on tackling technical challenges. As a Mechanical Engineering Degree Apprentice at Leonardo, you will be part of a team working to advance our world-leading products in the Defence sector.

The programme offers a wealth of industry experiences and development opportunities in virtual and hands-on work settings. Throughout your journey, you will engage in academic studies and receive guidance from your team to achieve personal growth objectives.

As a Mechanical Engineering Degree Apprentice, you will be exposed to cutting-edge methods, technologies, and tools to explore all facets of the Engineering Lifecycle, from Requirements Analysis to Production and support.

This role allows for a blend of on-site and remote work, with occasional presence required at our Bristol/Southampton facility based on Customer needs.

What you'll do as a Mechanical Engineering Degree Apprentice:

  • Acquire the necessary skills to thrive in a Professional Engineering environment
  • Maintain academic performance in the Mechanical Engineering degree course
  • Support the team in delivering technical solutions for Customer requirements
  • Create and present design data following 'Best Practices'
  • Deliver detailed designs, including calculations and tolerance studies
  • Produce Manufacturing Data Packs adhering to standards
  • Generate parts, assemblies, and mechanisms as per guidelines
  • Work to meet Cost, Schedule, and Quality goals

The starting salary for this role is £20,500
