Job Title: Statutory Audit Lead & Legal Entity Accountant

The Opportunity: The Statutory Audit Lead & Legal Entity Accountant position at WestRock entails overseeing external audit programs for UK and Irish statutory accounts. Responsibilities include preparing accounts, coordinating audits, and ensuring timely filing of financial statements. Moreover, this role involves consolidating financial information, maintaining compliance with accounting standards, and assisting with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.

How You Will Impact WestRock:

  • To serve as the primary contact between the external audit team and the site financial controllers to guarantee a smooth audit process and timely submission of statutory financial statements.
  • To coordinate the annual audit schedule by liaising with internal teams and external auditors while ensuring adherence to deadlines.
  • To mentor the Statutory Accountant, fostering a collaborative team effort toward completing statutory financial statements.
  • To aid in the consolidation of monthly financial and management accounting data from various divisions, ensuring compliance with UK GAAP and USGAAP, and timely submission of consistent financial information.
  • To consolidate, reconcile, and analyze quarterly supplementary information submissions and meet reporting deadlines.
  • To establish and maintain a robust control framework.

What You Need to Succeed:

  • A qualified accountant seeking a progression into Corporate/Manufacturing Accounting.
  • Proficiency in IT, including a solid understanding of Excel and consolidation software.
  • Familiarity with accounts preparation or audit processes.
  • Experience in UK statutory reporting and UK GAAP.
  • Knowledge of USGAAP is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with Sarbanes-Oxley, particularly in implementation and testing.
