As an Urgent Treatment Centre LeadNurse Practitioner, you will be considered a key person in day-to-day clinicalleadership and expertise within the department.

As part of your role, you will bepart of a comprehensive UTC leadership team including a UTC lead, GP lead andservice leads. Together, you will provide on the ground leadership ensuring theeffective delivery of the UTC services. Your role will involve audits, clinicalsupport, clinical leadership, working in partnership with stakeholders and somuch more.

You will be working autonomouslywithin your sphere of competency as a clinicianin adiverse,multi-skilled teamthat includes GPs, Advanced Practitioners, PhysicianAssociates, Paediatric ANPs, Emergency Practitioners and Live Well Coaches.

Main duties of the job

Principalduties and responsibilities

-Take responsibility for the performance andmanagement of the nursing staff in the UTC.

-Monitor and audit various elements of the UTC.

-Understand and act upon various performanceindicators.

-Be a role model for staff working in the UTC.

-Provide leadership to all staff working in theUTC.

-Take responsibility for the patients assignedthrough the streaming process.

-Perform assessment of patients needs, plan,implement and evaluate clinical treatment and care using advanced clinicalknowledge and skills.

-To assess diagnostics including ECGs, bloods, urinalysis,and X-rays.

-Be able to discuss with patients and carers therange of possible treatment/ management options and their implications beforetreatment decisions are made.

-Instigate and implement clinical management andtreatment changes when appropriate.

-Contribute to specific care guidelines andstandards supporting the care of patients across the health economy.

-To implement Health and Safety and RiskManagement appropriate to area of work

-To deliver aspects of the Clinical GovernanceAgenda, following the direction of the Clinical Leadership.

-Contribute to and manage various elements ofauditing in the UTC.

-To have overall responsibility for other membersof the clinical team within the UTC
