Due to ongoing growth in the Engineering Division, we have a requirement for a Trainee Fabricator Welder, to come and join us, based in our headquarters in Boyndie Drome, Banff.

The Trainee Fabricator Welder will work in conjunction with the fabrication and welding team members, assisting where required. Due to the nature of this role there will be a focussed learning experience.

The post holder will ensure that the daily duties are undertaken efficiently and ensure all work is carried out in compliance with relevant Health and Safety guidelines.


Responsibilities:

  • Set up, lay out and tack up various weldments within tolerances stated in production drawings.
  • Receive relevant training on MIG, Flux core welding according to production drawing.
  • Carry out cosmetic finishes as required.
  • To work in accordance with instructions and approved codes of practice.
  • Safe operation of machinery, hand tools, lifting equipment and ensure job materials and equipment are correctly used.
  • Communicate with other department within operations.
  • HSEQ compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations, and the company's management system.
  • Develop strong working relations with key stakeholders clients, colleagues etc.
  • To be a positive ambassador for Motive Offshore Group Ltd.

Required skills / knowledge:

  • Keen and willing to learn with a "can do" attitude
  • Good attention to detail and ability to manage own time effectively.
  • Ability to prioritise workload.
  • The ability to influence and communicate effectively with all levels of staff.
  • The ability to build strong working relationships, internal and external to the organisation.
  • Good judgement and decision making skills.
  • Ability to read, understand and disseminate technical drawings and converse with the technical requirements of the task in hand.
