This is an exciting opportunity to join the Medical Workforce Team, initially for a period of 12 months.

The Medical Workforce team recruit and support all grades of Doctors in the Trust. This role will mainly support the recruitment of Fellows and also support with Specialty Doctor recruitment. Once Doctors are recruited we continue to offer support directly to Doctors or via department managers.

  • Work within and support the Recruitment and Medical Staffing teams.
  • To deliver an effective Recruitment and Medical Resourcing service to Directorates and Departments across the Trust ensuring, all general and medical recruitment administration processes are in line with current legislation and best practice.
  • To participate in and deliver project work for Medical Recruitment.
  • To provide senior support and advice to junior members of the Medical Staffing team

  • Act as a senior member of the Medical Workforce Team, providing advice and support to junior colleagues where required.
  • Support senior colleagues throughout the team where required.
  • Monitor and maintain recruitment processes undertaken by the Medical Workforce team to ensure they continue to meet set deadlines and quality assurance standards.
  • Audit employee files ensuring all documentation complies with NHS employment check standards.
  • Assist with Medical rotation of doctors as and when required, carrying out preemployment checks and issuing contracts.
  • Ensure all recruitment administration processes are carried out in line with current legislation and NHS Employers guidance including eligibility to work in the UK, GDRP, Equality and Diversity and Confidentiality.
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of Terms and Conditions of service, recruitment best practice standards, Trust policies and procedures and Employment Legislation in relation to recruitment in order to advise recruiting managers and applicants on recruitment issues as required.
  • Utilise ESR with the recruitment system interface throughout the recruitment process.
  • Carry out preemployment checks for new starters where required, including obtaining DBS checks, occupational health clearance, references, ID checks, Right to work and professional registration/qualifications.
  • Deal with honorary contract requests, carrying out relevant checks and issuing contracts where required.
  • Provide information and support to managers on all aspects of the recruitment and selection process and ensure their compliance with both Trust policy and legislative requirements.
  • Assess advertising documents and advert wording and advertise relevant vacancies in line with Trust policy.
  • Take part in Trust wide recruitment and careers fairs including assisting with the development of information packs and display materials.
  • Undertake project work as required.
  • Take responsibility for continuous professional development.
