CMS2, a specialized equipment manufacturer providing maritime atmosphere control systems and life-long support services, is seeking an Import and Export Coordinator.

Reporting to the Head of Supply Chain, serving as a subject matter expert overseeing all essential Import & Export administrative tasks for the procurement department. Responsibilities include document organization, scanning, coordinating international shipments, and supporting projects in alignment with company standards for Import and Export procedures.

Ensure Import and Export compliance to elevate awareness across the company, managing relevant legislation and reporting updates to the business.

Key Responsibilities and Tasks:

  • Maintain Import and Export records and documentation integrity, highlighting any deviations to relevant parties.
  • Manage documentation such as licenses and consignee undertakings for projects.
  • Support Project Managers in updating internal customers for timely delivery.
  • Monitor Commodity Codes, CECCs, and ECCNs.
  • Assist in maintaining Import and Export NCR records with the Quality Department.
  • Participate in departmental and company-wide continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure Import and Export Compliance including Inward Processing (IP).
  • Experience with ITAR/EAR US and UK Compliance.
  • Coordinate UK shipments and manage courier contracts.
  • Liaise with couriers and shipping agents on all Import and Export matters.
  • Check and manage MSS data monthly, promptly addressing any errors.
  • Record all Import and Export movements for audit readiness.
  • Lead HMRC and Export Control audits.

General Activities:

  • Provide professional backup during peak times or absences.
  • Adhere to company procedures, standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain professional development for current knowledge.
  • Represent the company positively in customer and public interactions.

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

Essential

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in Import and Export, preferably in the Defense sector.
  • Prepare documents for efficient goods movement through import and export processes.
  • Review paperwork to ensure accurate billing of charges and fees.
  • Maintain a merchandise tracking database and process claims.
  • Engage with Import/Export Agencies and Certifications.
  • Knowledge of UK Export compliance legislation.
  • Understanding of ITAR/EAR and UK import processes.
  • Experience in process improvement.

Desirable

  • Strong planning and organizational skills.
  • Excellent team collaboration and relationship-building abilities.
  • Sound analytical skills and ability to work independently.
  • Proficient IT skills, including Microsoft Office.

Role Travel Requirements

  • Occasional travel to other TP group offices in the UK may be necessary.

Other Requirements

  • Candidates must have the right to live and work in the UK.
  • Must possess or be eligible for UK Security Check level clearance.
  • SC clearance typically requires a minimum 5-year UK residency.
