In this role you will be providing care in the family home to children who have multiple complex health needs including children who have a tracheostomy and require ventilation.
It is important to look beyond any equipment and remember "the child." A child who is like any other child and by being creative and doing things differently they have the same opportunity as any other child.
The job is challenging you are lone working in the family home, you may be recorded in the family home as CCTV is becoming more commonly used in family homes.
We have to work to our guidelines and policies, parents don't and this can cause conflict. You may have to have difficult conversations with children and families from a safeguarding perspective.
The shift pattern is day and night working in the same week and you may work 2.5 weekends out of 4, you will work bank holidays, weekends and nights.
