We are delighted to share that we will be hosting a Band 6 Emergency Department Recruitment Open Day at Whipps Cross University Hospital

We are looking to recruit enthusiastic, dynamic and passionate Junior Sister/Charge Nurses to help lead our nursing team day-to-day management within the Adults and Children's Emergency Departments.

We are looking for leaders who enjoy a challenge and thrive within the high energy specialty of Emergency Care. Our ED offers an amazing development package with routes to formal education channels, our development work has been recognised nationally and Barts Health prides itself on our development of nurses.

On the day, you will have the opportunity to meet the members of our team who will talk about their experience and to discuss what their "day in the life" looks like and the various career paths we can support you with and ask any questions you may have. There will also be an opportunity to be interviewed on the day, so you could go home with a job offer.

Essential criteria

Degree or equivalent and relevant experience as RN Specialist A&E/ED course or working towards Mentorship Course or Equivalent

Desirable criteria

Leadership/Management course.

Skills

Essential criteria

Recent and relevant experience in ED Nursing Sound ability to work as a team member with good emotional intelligence skills to read situations and balancing responses with empathy and gusto. Ability to manage own workload. Excellent verbal and written communication skills within documentation and with all members of the team, patients and their carers. Positive attitude and ability to work under pressure. Adaptability to changing workload Role model for junior colleagues Full participation in teaching programme and development of self and others on every interaction. Sound ability to problem solve and balance risk, safety and performance, putting patients and staff at the heart of your decisions. Practices openness, honesty and transparency, upholding the Trust Values at all times. Ability to identify and provide ranges of feedback. Ability to manage risk, risk assess and mitigate against risk. Ability to delegate authority to people and monitor against required outcomes. Demonstrate understanding and role in management of ED operational standards.
