We currently have a full-time vacancy for a Dispensary Assistant in the Haghill area.


A Dispensary Assistant is an integral part of the Pharmacy team and supports a registered Pharmacist by assisting with the assembly and supply of medications.

Their role involves ensuring that prescriptions are processed correctly, alongside handling over-the-counter sales and consulting with patients face-to-face.


Dispensary Assistants receive and process orders coming into the pharmacy, ensure stock levels are maintained correctly, and keep records to facilitate the role of the Pharmacist.


Your duties will include the safe and legal supply of prescription and over-the-counter medications to patients, preparing prescriptions, order, and maintain supplies of medication within the pharmacy.

You will also provide information to inform and educate patients and other healthcare professionals.


You will require basic computer skills as through the course of your working day you will gather, organise, and assess patient information, maintain electronic records, process requests for free NHS services and receive prescription orders.


You will need effective communication skills as you will be expected to consult directly with other healthcare providers and patients.

You will also be expected to complete patient sales and transactions for over-the-counter medications and offer advice on free NHS services that patients are eligible to receive

Dispensary Assistants are required to hold or be working towards an NVQ level 2 in Pharmacy Services or equivalent.

Experience is not essential as training will be provided.
