Salary £27,852 to £35,411 FTE

Dorchester, combined with home-working
We believe that our employees aren't just cogs in the machine, but the driving force behind our success.

When you step into the role of HR Change Consultant, you aren't just accepting a new job, but an invitation to shape and grow with us.

What's in it for you:

Engage with a diverse range of individuals across all levels and services within the council. Additionally, collaborate with key external stakeholders, including Trade Unions, amplifying the richness of your professional interactions.

Step outside the confines of our office and connect with a broader community. Share, and learn from other practitioners and organisations. Exchange stories, strategies, and spark innovative ideas together.

Your growth is our priority. We're committed to investing in you.

Whether it's through training programs, workshops, or conferences, we want to ensure you're always learning, evolving, and surpassing even your expectations.

We understand the importance of work-life balance and offer flexible working arrangements, including hybrid work options.

Our commitment to employee well-being extends beyond flexibility, as we provide various well-being initiatives to support your overall health and happiness.

We are a collaborative and inclusive service, where your ideas and contributions will be valued and respected. You will have the opportunity to work alongside passionate professionals, contributing to innovative solutions and driving positive change. Our supportive work environment fosters teamwork and empowers you to make a real impact.

By supporting important change initiatives for the council, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of the council.

What you will be doing:

You will be actively involved in various aspects of the council's development.

On a day-to-day basis, you'll work with our people managers, providing them with support to manage change effectively within their teams.

Building and maintaining relationships is crucial.

Working alongside our HR Change Management Leads, you'll be liaising frequently with our HR Business Partners, Organisational Development teams, and other internal colleagues.

The aim? To jointly develop effective and sustainable change strategies that integrate well into our processes.

Lastly, you'll work with teams across the council to ensure that our change-related policies and guidance are current and effective.

About you:

You are a highly organised people professional who thrives in delivering employee relations with an interest in change management. Your ability to work independently while maintaining a flexible approach allows you to adapt seamlessly to changing circumstances. Your communication skills enable you to present information in a concise and engaging way.

Your ability to grasp and interpret people management policies and practice, especially those tied to change, is strong. This ensures that all changes align with employment law and are consistently applied.

You possess a keen understanding of how individuals react during periods of change, and more importantly, you know how managers can best support their teams during these times.

You will have a CPID level 5 qualification and/or relevant experience in an HR role, demonstrating your expertise in employee relations and change management alongside an understanding of relevant employment law.

As well as being a people management professional, you'll also be confident in working with digital methods to help drive efficiency in our change management practices as an organisation.

You relish the opportunity to be part of a collaborative team, fostering a sense of unity and achieving shared goals.

We welcome professionals from diverse backgrounds, including those with private sector expertise.

Our team at Dorset Council consists of individuals who bring unique perspectives and experiences, contributing to a vibrant and innovative work environment.
