Job Description
NBCUniversal is seeking a skilled Storage Engineer to join our Enterprise Technology and Infrastructure - Storage team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining high availability storage environments, providing support for operational changes, and managing incidents until resolution.

Key Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

  • Support a variety of storage technologies within the NBCU enterprise, including file, block, tape, and object storage systems.
  • Provide level 2 support to MSP teams maintaining these systems, offering 24/7 on-call support.
  • Participate in investigating application performance issues and identifying root causes.
  • Collaborate with storage vendors to resolve system issues and drive future development.
  • Automate routine tasks through scripting and upgrade systems for enhanced functionality and security.
  • Develop partnerships with other engineering teams for cross-facility support.
  • Provide updates on support and project tasks to management and clients.
  • Create training and documentation for systems and support procedures.

Responsibilities may vary and be adjusted by the Company.

Qualifications

Qualifications/Requirements

  • B.S. degree in Information Technology/Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience supporting high availability Storage and Data Protection environments.
  • Experience in planning and testing technical solutions in a global enterprise setting.
  • Proficiency in storage performance, data replication, and SAN based backup.
  • Knowledge of storage technologies such as Fiber Channel, iSCSI, NFS, etc.
  • Experience in Windows/Linux Server administration and network infrastructure.

  • Ability to manage environments across multiple locations.

  • Team player with adaptability to changing requirements and priorities.
  • Self-driven with effective communication skills.
  • Ability to interact with technical and non-technical resources.
  • Experience with DevOps/Automation Toolsets, monitoring/logging technologies, and cloud platforms.
  • Preference for candidates with Media Industry experience.
