About the Job:
The Assistant Store Manager plays a crucial role in supporting store management in various functions such as customer service, merchandising, and inventory actions to boost sales and performance. As brand ambassadors, the focus is on delivering a shopping experience that fulfills both the functional and emotional needs of customers. Working closely with the management team, they assist in understanding and executing store priorities on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure DSW store standards are maintained to provide a positive customer experience, including daily opening/closing tasks and overall store cleanliness
- Support Store Manager in tasks such as sales floor management, stockroom organization, and merchandise flow to enhance consumer experience
- Supervise and participate in inventory management activities, including freight handling, placement, and markdowns
- Oversee omni-channel operations in-store, including various services like Charge/Send and Delivery
- Utilize inventory reports to optimize merchandise presentation and productivity on the sales floor
- Assist in recruitment, onboarding, training, coaching, and performance reviews of associates
- Collaborate with management to implement company strategies and policies effectively
- Maintain adequate supply inventory for floor moves, markdowns, and fulfillment
- Support payroll management and ensure associate scheduling meets business needs
- Must have flexibility in working hours to accommodate business demands
- Proficient in basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of retail experience
- High school graduate or equivalent
