About the Role:
  • An opportunity to join the top and highly experienced Personal Accident team in Liberty Specialty Markets.
  • Exposure to a wide range of A&H risks within the London portfolio and globally.
  • Focus on maintaining and fostering relationships with brokers, clients, and business partners to renew and attract new business.
  • Lead team strategy and planning in the short and medium term, including overseeing aspects of the business planning process.
About the Department & Team:
  • A leading team with extensive experience in the Personal Accident sector.
  • Mainly a binder book of A&H business developed over many years through strong relationships built by the current senior leadership.
  • Underwriting a global book of PA business for a variety of brokers and clients, with a focus on coverholder relationships, particularly in the US, Holland, and Singapore.
  • Dynamic work environment - office-based and remote work.
  • Book primarily written on syndicate paper (Liberty Managing Agency Limited) and has the added advantage of using the LSM company stamp (Liberty Mutual Insurance Europe SE).
Key Responsibilities:
  • Underwrite insurance risks in line with the business plan and personal authority to achieve business objectives, including negotiating rates, terms, and conditions.
  • Ensure compliance with contract certainty requirements for documentation production.
  • Contribute innovative ideas and concepts to support the business plan's development and execution, such as expanding into new territories or distribution networks.
  • Participate in underwriting meetings, share knowledge, and contribute to strategy development.
  • Enhance knowledge of Personal Accident market dynamics and cycles to support the team's performance.
  • Review and analyze the portfolio to track progress towards business objectives.
  • Collaborate with the operations team to process entries accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Assist in cross-selling within Liberty Mutual and LSM.
  • Adhere to all regulatory requirements and demonstrate the prescribed behaviors outlined in the Conduct Risk Policy.
  • Record customer compliance as a core part of the role and maintain integrity while placing customers at the center of the business.
  • Follow legal entity responsibilities and regulatory requirements associated with the role.
Skills and Experience:
  • Extensive experience in underwriting or broking.
  • Understanding of current market conditions in the Personal Accident sector.
  • Strong knowledge of legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Chartered Insurance Institute qualification(s).
  • Intermediate level proficiency in Excel and other relevant software.
  • High level of numeracy and literacy skills.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Self-motivated with excellent organizational skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Enhance existing and new distribution channels.
