We are on the lookout for a Senior Engineer – EDS specialist (Electrical Distribution Systems – 2D Harness) to join our client's dynamic team. Our client takes pride in their commitment to engineering motorcycles that deliver outstanding riding experiences. They achieve this by expertly blending well-coordinated, user-friendly chassis with resilient, adaptable engines, resulting in a captivating range of motorcycles known for their thoughtful performance.

  • What You'll Do:

Responsibility for EDS projects involving new bike models and variants.
Design and development of complete vehicle electrical distribution systems using Vesys 2.0 / Capital Essentials Design and Harness, ensuring proper release via PLM Systems.
Interpreting technical drawings and specifications for a wide range of electrical/electronic components to define EDS designs.
Justifying design decisions with detailed documentation for harness electrical hardware architecture, relays, fuses, wire sizes, etc.
Collaborating with the mechanical (chassis) engineering team to optimize the wiring harness layout and associated electrical systems on the vehicle.
Translating information into Vesys 2.0 / Capital Essentials 2D harness layout drawings and aligning with circuit designs.
Interpreting circuit drawings and making necessary alterations.
Monitoring project electrical issues, timing, risks, actions, and liaising directly with project managers, manufacturing departments, and chassis/powertrain/systems teams.
Leading internal electrical team meetings to review project status.
Designing for EMC and offering assistance for pre-compliance vehicle-level testing.
Engaging with existing global suppliers and scouting for potential new suppliers to ensure timely introduction of new components and harnesses.
Coordinating and documenting vehicle level signoff testing and producing test reports for approval.
Driving continuous improvements in supplier relations, design processes, promoting best practices, and enhancing quality and efficiency.
Inspecting/verifying wire harnesses against drawings and participating in routing assessment sessions to enhance harness fitment during later prototype stages.
Providing close support during prototype and production build phases to swiftly address and resolve electrical issues.
Reviewing technical service manual documentation related to the vehicle electrical system.
Undertaking and supporting various projects as directed by your Manager.
Any other responsibilities as assigned by your Manager.

  • Who We Are Looking For:

Proficiency in 2D and circuit EDS design using Vesys 2.0 Design and Harness (or Capital Harness).
Skilled in Microsoft packages including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Strong troubleshooting abilities.
Broad understanding of automotive electrical architectures and current technological advancements in the public realm.
Solid grasp of electrical systems functionality.
Background in working on automotive OEM design projects.


Would Be An Asset If You Also Have:

Understanding of CAN communication and experience with tools like CANalyser / CANoe (or similar).
Ability to interpret component specifications.
Prior involvement in automotive/manufacturing/industrial settings.

Education Requirements:

BEng or MEng in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or HND level qualification with relevant proven experience.
