This is an exciting opportunity to join a very busy Hereford & Worcestershire Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service requiring flexibility, problem solving skills and a desire to make a difference. This is a multidisciplinary team consisting of Consultant Child psychiatrists, RMNs, psychologists and Family Therapists. You will be part of the eating disorder service, inputting into clinical pathways and supporting Children and Young People experiencing an eating disorder whilst providing specialist advice and consultation on systemic formulations and practice to CAMHS colleagues. The post holder will be a qualified systemic psychotherapist, providing specialist systemic psychotherapy services to children, young people and their families and consultation to the professional network bringing a systemic perspective to all aspects of the work. You will have a proven ability to liaise and work in collaboration with other relevant agencies according to the needs of the young person.
Main duties of the job Identify, analyse, and interpret complex clinical facts. Work autonomously and as a member of the multidisciplinary team providing generic and specialist systemic psychotherapy assessments, therapy, care planning and interventions. Provide specialist advice and consultation on systemic formulations and practice to CAMHS colleagues and in family therapy teamwork with own workplace. Represent Family Therapy at strategic level meetings within and across agencies on issues relating to family therapy. Take responsibility for initiating and coordinating the work programme for the Family Therapy Clinic within own workplace. Contribute to clinical teams, both multidisciplinary and undiscipline through the development of appropriate and collaborative care plans. Job description Job responsibilities Provide specialist mental health and specialist systemic psychotherapy and family therapy services to the CAMHS Eating Disorder Service and CAMHS team, participating fully in the work of the multi-disciplinary team and bringing a systemic perspective and expertise to all aspects of this work. Provide generic and specialist systemic assessments of clients and their families referred to the service, based upon the appropriate use of specialist clinical skills with clients, family members and others involved in the clients care. Be responsible for implementing a range of systemic psychotherapeutic interventions for individuals, carers, families, adjusting and refining systemic formulations as appropriate and drawing upon a wide range of models, approaches and techniques within systemic practice and maintaining a number of provisional hypotheses. Attend team MDT, formulation, clinical supervision provide specialist systemic consultation, advice and guidance to other professionals. Person Specification Qualifications Essential- Entry level masters equivalent dual qualifications and experience
- First post-graduate qualification in appropriate mental health/
- social welfare profession e.g., social worker/nurse/psychologist or AFT agreed equivalent plus
- Masters qualification in Systemic Psychotherapy or AFT accredited equivalent (usually 4 years academic study, assessed clinical training and supervised practice including the full range of models within systemic practice and life span development)
- Eligible for UKCP registration

- Ability to provide specialist therapeutic packages of care regarding a range of mental health problems within a tier 3 service.

- Ability to provide specialist advice and consultation on systemic formulations and practice to colleagues in other disciplines.
