Assistant Professor in Education

The School of Education invites applications from Educationalists with a specialism in the field of Digital Literacy and Pedagogies, whose research aligns with one or more of the School's areas of research activity. The successful candidate will support the teaching of digital pedagogies at UG and PGT level, and through their evidence-based research they will have a key role in informing the design of the School's programmes and modules, supporting staff in the School of Education as it continues to embed and develop digital learning approaches across its curricula. They will also have a key role in the implementation of new online PGT programmes and will be expected to actively contribute to one or more of the School's Thematic Research Clusters. The School of Education at Durham University is one of the best in the country and beyond. The School of Education is committed to research-led teaching and diversity in approaches to accommodate needs and potential of student learners. Our current portfolio of teaching ranges from undergraduate programmes (a BA in Education Studies and a BA in Primary Education), through Postgraduate Taught Masters pathways (from MA Education to MA Intercultural Communication and Education) to Postgraduate Research. Overall, we are ranked 2nd in the Complete University Guide, and have a top 100 ranking in both the QS and THE 2023 World University Rankings by subject.
