Private Equity Analyst

A renowned private equity firm with a 30-year history of transformative investments in sectors such as leisure/hospitality, franchising, real estate, and retail/consumer is seeking a detail-oriented Analyst to enhance their team in London. This firm has a notable track record of investing €18 billion across 40 businesses, achieving an aggregate enterprise value of over €51 billion. They manage and advise on their own investment funds and offer private equity advisory services with institutional capabilities to various investment partners.
Role Overview:
The Analyst will be an integral member of the investment team, focusing on identifying, analyzing, and executing investment opportunities across selected sectors. This role requires a highly analytical individual who can navigate complex financial landscapes and contribute to strategic investment decisions. The focus will be on portfolio companies based in the Nordic region, leveraging local market insights to optimize investment outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform detailed financial analysis and modeling to evaluate potential investment opportunities in the leisure/hospitality, franchising, real estate, and retail/consumer sectors, with a particular focus on Nordic portfolio companies.
- Assist in the due diligence process, compiling and analyzing data from various sources to assess risk and potential returns.
- Prepare investment memoranda, reports, and presentations that clearly communicate investment rationale, strategy, and expected outcomes to internal and external stakeholders.
- Monitor portfolio companies and market trends, providing regular updates on sector developments that may impact investment strategies.
- Work closely with senior team members to develop and implement operational improvements within portfolio companies to drive value creation.
Requirements:
- 1-3 years of experience in private equity, investment banking, management consulting, or related financial services, preferably with exposure to the target sectors.
- Strong quantitative skills and familiarity with financial modeling, valuation, and analysis.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related field; a Master's degree or professional certifications (e.g., CFA) would be advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex information in an accessible manner.
- Proactive and self-motivated team player with meticulous attention to detail.
- Fluency in English is required; proficiency in any Nordic language is considered an advantage due to the geographical focus on the Nordic markets.
