This unique opportunity presents one of the most pivotal leadership positions within Circle Health Group, offering the chance to assume full operational accountability for The Alexandra Hospital in Cheadle, a premier private hospital in the North of England.

Featuring 128 beds, 10 state-of-the-art theatres, and a cutting-edge multi-modality imaging suite, The Alexandra Hospital delivers a comprehensive spectrum of diagnostic, medical, and surgical services catering to both children and adults. From ophthalmology to orthopaedics, hernias to hearts, we offer top-notch healthcare services.

Moreover, The Alexandra boasts a private walk-in center, a private GP service, and a 7-bedded ITU facility catering to the specialized needs of patients.

We are currently seeking a dynamic Hospital Director to lead our exceptional team.

This role demands a visionary leader with a solid track record of steering successful, transformative, and clinically excellent hospitals.

As a full-time permanent position, this role entails some regional and national travel.


  • Degree level education/ post-graduate qualifications or equivalent.
  • A clear understanding of current health industry issues and knowledge of health funding pertaining to private/public health sectors with a working knowledge of statutory regulatory requirements.
  • Able to establish operational and capital budgets that accurately reflect the organization's goals, intended strategies, and emerging commercial opportunities.
  • Sound financial skills enabling the interpretation of financial data.
  • Awareness of regulatory requirements in healthcare.
  • Risk management skills.
  • Excellent HR management skills, including recruitment, selection, and retention.
  • Proven leadership and strategic planning abilities within a commercial or healthcare environment.
  • Demonstrated experience of leading change in a commercial or healthcare environment by fostering a positive challenging culture that meets customer expectations and requirements.
  • Previous healthcare experience in a senior management position.

An Executive Director plays a pivotal role in charting the strategic direction and leadership for the hospital and its management team. Additionally, the Executive Director must serve as a role model, mentor, and coach to the hospital team.

Responsibilities include ensuring the provision of safe, effective, caring, and responsive patient care in a high-quality clinical environment that optimizes the financial and operational performance of the hospital.
