The Regional Organiser is the key organizing role in the region, responsible for recruitment, retention, and organization of members.
- Provide leadership to a group of branches to ensure the strongest possible workplace organization.
- Support, guide, and develop branches and activists during periods of change in public services delivery.
- Build branch organization and performance, identify training needs, and provide ongoing support through coaching and mentoring.
- Lead collective negotiations across sectors UNISON is organizing.
- Represent members individually and collectively, assist branches in managing their work effectively.
- Manage a team of organizers.
You should have skills and experience including:
- Demonstrable leadership and motivational skills.
- Track record of using initiative and independence over a broad area of activity.
- Considerable knowledge of industrial relations and high-level negotiation experience.
- Experience in advocacy in challenging situations.
- Ability to develop strategies, plans, and solutions for complex problems.
- Experience in project management.
- Highly developed interpersonal skills and influencing experience.
