Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled Technical Sales Support Specialist to join our dynamic team in the infrastructure lighting industry. This role supports project-based sales by managing project workflows, providing detailed and accurate quotes, and delivering exceptional technical support. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in technical support, excellent organisational and communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Responsibilities
  • Provide technical support during the sales process, identifying customer requirements and proposing solutions.
  • Review project specifications, allocate work to departments, and ensure timely completion.
  • Analyse technical documents for estimation and communicate with suppliers to evaluate quotes.
  • Generate accurate, project-specific quotes.
  • Manage the entire order lifecycle from initial customer enquiries and requests for quotations (RFQs) to receiving purchase orders.
  • Support client presentations and develop technical sales proposals.
  • Engage with customers to resolve technical issues and understand needs.
  • Maintain and update CRM systems.
  • Relay customer feedback to product development teams for improvement.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a technical sales support role, preferably in a project-based sales environment.
  • Proficiency in learning new technologies and understanding tendering and project management principles.
  • Project management certifications (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) are optional but preferred.

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Strong organisational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems, sales tools, and software applications (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot).
  • Experience working in a collaborative team environment.
  • Comfortable with software systems.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong customer service orientation and the ability to manage and prioritise multiple customer requests and projects.
  • Ability to generate accurate and detailed project-specific quotes.
  • Competence in supporting client presentations and developing technical sales proposals.
