Our Values are:

  • Open and fair: We are fair, open, and transparent.

What is the job role?

Do you have a good knowledge of legislation and best practices in the field of children's services? Do you want to join a dynamic and expanding service that supports vulnerable children and their families in Coventry?

If you answered yes to these questions, then you might be the ideal candidate for the role of Manager for our Children's Home.

As a manager, you will:

  • Support your staff team with training, supervision, and professional development
  • Recruit and select new employees and assess their performance
  • Ensure that the voice of the child is heard and respected in the service delivery
  • Adhere to and implement the relevant policies, procedures, and legislation
  • Participate in the development and improvement of the service
  • Undertake relevant training and qualifications as required

This post is exempted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and as such appointment to this post will be conditional upon the receipt of a satisfactory response to a check of police records via Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).

Who are we looking for?

Successful candidates will be required to work closely with the Operational Lead to build an effective team and achieve successful outcomes for children living within the home.

You will need to be able to use your own initiative and be expected to drive forward improvements and meet the requirements of the Children Homes Regulations 2015 and best practice standards identified within the SCCIF.

You will have a solid understanding of and be an advocate for the principles of diversity and inclusion in relation to workplace culture and service delivery.

We welcome applications from established and experienced Managers and applications from Deputy Managers with the skills, experience and drive to progress.

As part of the application process, you will need to provide us with your full work history since leaving school and identify any gaps in order to meet the requirements of Schedule 2 of the Children's Homes Regulations 2015.
