AUDIT MANAGER

Reporting to: Partner

Hawk 3 Talent Solutions, as an employment agency, is currently seeking an Audit Manager to join our client's accountancy practice in Newton Abbot under a permanent contract.

In this role, you will effectively manage audit engagements with various clients, ensuring the right resources are allocated to meet deadlines.

As the Audit Manager, you will provide clients with necessary information, promptly addressing any inquiries. Additionally, you will collaborate with external file reviewers and ICAEW when needed.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Manage an audit-focused client portfolio, encompassing various sectors including charities
  • Plan and oversee statutory and voluntary audits
  • Review and prepare corporation tax computations, advising clients on tax obligations promptly
  • Act as the primary contact for client matters, demonstrating a strong commercial understanding and keeping them informed about progress
  • Resolve technical queries through research and external consultation when necessary
  • Create references and reports related to audits, highlighting deficiencies in internal controls and accounting systems
  • Ensure financial statements comply with external and internal standards
  • Conduct audits independently and within deadlines with minimal supervision
  • Perform annual audit compliance reviews
  • Update standard engagement letters
  • Prepare and submit the firm's annual ICAEW return
  • Maintain up-to-date master audit programs
  • Firms MLCO responsibilities

About you:

  • Qualified ACA or ACCA or possess 3 years of auditing experience at a senior/managerial level
  • Familiarity with UK tax regulations, particularly corporation tax and income tax as applicable to audit clients
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word; familiarity with accounting software like Sage, QuickBooks, or Xero
  • Knowledge of Accounts production software such as CCH or IRIS is beneficial
  • Demonstrate initiative, teamwork skills, and the ability to build strong client relationships
