You'll support a HR Manager and two HR Business Partners (HRBPs) in providing the HR advisory service to managers and staff

  • Assist line managers in monitoring and utilisation of the sickness absence procedure
  • Assist the HR Manager & HRBPs to provide support (including administrative) and guidance to managers in all employee relations matters, including grievances, disciplinaries, ending fixed term contracts
  • To advise and support managers and the HR team on recruitment and selection options and processes
  • Support managers in effectively implementing organisational changes and realise efficiencies/savings from their people plans
  • Support the HR Manager to develop, implement, monitor and evaluate the Council's approach to equality and diversity, including our Public Sector Equality Duties
  • To assist in the development and delivery of our Organisational Development Strategy, and subsequent programmes of work as well as other HR-led projects.
  • To input into the review of contractual policies and procedures
  • Other ad-hoc duties as required

Qualifications
CIPD qualified or significant HR experience in lieu of this

Full driving license

Personal experience/ attributes
Thorough knowledge of up to date employment legislation

Ability to work to tight deadlines, to multi task and reprioritise work

Good communication skills; written & verbal

Excellent interpersonal skills; diplomacy and assertiveness, ability to quickly establish and maintain good working relationships at all levels
