An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Applied Psychologist to work as a consultant on a sessional basis within our Directorate of Care supporting the Family Support and Wellbeing Team.

This post-holder will provide consultation, supervision, case management and formulation, education, and training.

This post holder will support a multi-disciplinary team to provide a specialist psychological support service to children and young people and their families who are living with life limiting conditions or who are bereaved and who are experiencing complex and acute levels of psychological distress.

The successful candidate appointed to this post will have the opportunity to further develop their knowledge and experience in psychological and emotional support provided in children's hospice care; learning from a multi-professional team committed to providing exceptional specialist palliative care.

Experience of working with families who have children with complex or palliative needs would be beneficial but is not essential.

Please note all applicants must already hold the legal right to work in the UK and be registered with HCPC.

Trained to post-graduate doctoral level in Clinical/Counselling or Health Psychology as accredited by the BPS.
Hold current professional registration with HCPC (you will be required to provide evidence of relevant qualifications)

Demonstrate a high-level knowledge of the theory and practical application of specialised psychological therapies to individuals with physical health needs.

Demonstrate clinical experience working as a qualified psychologist within a designated service across a range of care settings and exercising full clinical responsibility for psychological care.

Demonstrate experience of teaching, training, and supervision of staff
