The Role:
  • We are in search of a new Shift Technician to join our team at Spalding Power Station. Your main responsibilities will include operating the station safely and efficiently, conducting routine testing, monitoring plant activities, and performing necessary maintenance to ensure the plant's reliability and availability are maximized.

Role Summary:
  • Operation and supervision of power generation processes from a central control room, including various operational tasks, testing of plant and apparatus, and ensuring safety systems are fully functional. Full Safety Controller authorization and progression to Shift Team Leader is required. Training for roles such as Acceptor, Issuer, and Appointed Person is also part of the role, including HV apparatus operation.
  • Analysis of water/steam cycle and environmental chemistry, updating procedures, site drawings, and labels, and using the Maintenance Management System for reporting and recording tasks. Participation in emergency response duties and reliability programs to drive improvements.
Why you?
  • As a Shift Technician, you should have a minimum of 3 years of experience in heavy industrial power generation equipment, knowledge of safety regulations, excellent communication skills, and IT proficiency. Self-motivation, strong work ethic, attention to detail, and teamwork are crucial attributes for this role.
Education/Experience:
  • HND in a relevant discipline with industry experience, along with safety-related qualifications like IOSH or NEBOSH certificate.
