Clearwise Newbury Ltd have a new opportunity for a drivers mate in Newbury. We are a family business looking to expand our team.

We are looking for a drivers mate to join us with the prospect of being trained to become an driver.

We will provide on the job training and help with CPC driver qualification.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone to learn a trade from an experienced engineer with a view to progress in the company.

The company will pay for training toward a HGV licence.

As a Driver Mate you will:

• Manage your time effectively and attend jobs which will be provided on a job sheet
• Support and assist Drainage Engineer on a daily basis with relevant paperwork for collections
• Carrying out vehicle checks on our lorries, swiftly reporting any damage or areas of concern to your Manager
• Carrying/Placing pipes and equipment for removal of waste
• Providing customer service to clients and being punctual
• Maintain health and safety standards at all times
• Understand the importance of arriving at jobs on time by using the most efficient routes.
• Learn how to ensure that all paperwork is correct and accurate.

As a Driver Mate you will have the following:

• Minimum 2 years Full clean UK Driving Licence
• Previous experience in a similar role is advantageous, but not essential
• A strong team player with great communication skills and an enthusiastic approach; you're well organised and punctual with an eagle eye for detail
• You want to be part of a team that works hard and supports each other
• Eager to learn the drainage industry
• Understand and learn the Highway Code.
• Good interpersonal skills to deal with customers face to face
• Ability to interpret paperwork and ensure all special instructions are adhered to

Additional Information

• Applicants must live within a 15 miles radius of Newbury, Berkshire as this is where the lorry is located
• You will be required to work outdoors in all weathers and be required to walk and stand on uneven ground
• Must be comfortable working with sewage
• Some weekend work will be required
