The Role: We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Project Manager with Aerospace/Defence experience to take charge of the overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control, and completion of specific projects, ensuring alignment with company strategic goals, commitments, and business targets. Responsibilities: The successful candidate will: *Generate, maintain, and deliver project plans in support of bids for new business.*Define, generate, and execute project plans for contracted work, including development, production, or research projects.
*Enhance project value and margin through proactive risk management.
*Report on project progress internally and to customers.
*Manage, monitor, and motivate cross-functional team members assigned to projects.
*Collaborate closely with customers to understand business requirements, fostering effective working relationships and ongoing project management processes.
*Approve and/or authorise documents as defined in the Approved Signatory or Delegated Authorities List. Requirements: Candidates should possess the following experience and skills: *Proven experience in planning, managing, and delivering production, development, or technology projects involving small to medium batch manufacturing of discrete and complex products and sub-components. Experience with developmental activities where project parameters can change is desirable.
*Strong commercial and financial acumen.
*Project Management software tools such as Primavera or Microsoft Project.
*Excellent customer skills and the ability to communicate effectively at all organizational levels.
*Willingness to travel within the UK and overseas as required.
*Ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplined team.
*Demonstrated experience in effective risk mitigation.
*Background or experience in managing projects within an engineering-focused environment is advantageous.
*Knowledge of MoD and aerospace applications is beneficial.
*Up-to-date knowledge and experience of the defence industry are desirable. Qualifications: Degree or industry-related qualification or equivalent experience is essential.
Recognised Project Management qualification/accreditation (e.g., APM Membership or qualifications, PRINCE2) is desirable. Additional Information: Eligible for hybrid working - up to 1 day a week after completing a 6-month probation period. Benefits: Competitive salary
