Role Profile
This role will be to plan, teach and deliver vocational classes supporting the wide range of qualifications on offer.
In addition to the role of Lecturer, additional responsibility for the following:nPromote outstanding teaching, learning and assessment across FE and work with teaching teams to improve the quality of teaching, learning and assessment.nSupport quality assurance for the curriculum area including assessment, internal and external quality assurance work.nProvide highly specialist industry skills and knowledge in specialised sectors and support the subject updating of lecturer teams.nAs an employee within NCG, all employees are required to promote, uphold, and demonstrate through personal example, our values and behaviours.
Responsibilities:
nPrepare and deliver teaching and learning activities and resources that provide learners with a high quality experience and result in effective outcomes for learners.nDevelop effective assessment strategies that support learners to achieve their learning aims.nProvide effective assessment feedback that informs progress.nContribute to College processes to monitor learner progress and performance.nDevelop external links to provide a high quality learner experience with additional activities such as trips, visits, guest lecturers.nContribute to the course administration of courses on which you deliver.nContribute to course and curriculum development.nParticipate in quality review processes.nPrepare for and participate in external quality inspections e.g.
Ofsted / Higher Education Review.nPromote high industry standards to learners and employability skills inside and outside the classroom.nContribute to the learner recruitment process for the College.nContribute to course team meetings.nEngage with internal and external stakeholders as required.nActively participate in learner recruitment, and contribute to planning and tracking of these processes.nAdditional responsibilities aligned to 3 key areas as agreed with Curriculum leader.
Experience/Qualifications:
nVocational / Training Qualification in related curriculum subject or working towards.nHold a recognised teaching qualification at a minimum Level 5 Qualified Teacher Status or willing to work towards.nLevel 2 Maths and EnglishnExperience of working within the relevant field.nExperience of teaching/ training/mentoring or supporting learning in formal or informal situations.nEvidence of implementing effective and appropriate strategies for maintaining good classroom management and learner behavior.
