Job Title: Quantity Surveyor at a Leading Housing Association
Our client, the maintenance division of a respected housing association, is in search of a skilled Quantity Surveyor to enhance their team.You'll have a vital role in effectively managing costs for maintenance projects carried out by the Housing Association.You'll collaborate closely with the maintenance team and subcontractors to ensure projects meet deadlines, stay within budget, and meet quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct cost estimates and create budgets for maintenance projects.
  • Source materials and services based on project needs and financial constraints.
  • Evaluate tenders and negotiate contracts with suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Track project costs and spending throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Perform cost assessments and generate financial reports for management evaluation.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and provide value engineering solutions.
  • Offer guidance to the maintenance team on cost-related issues.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience as a Quantity Surveyor, ideally in the maintenance industry.
  • Thorough knowledge of construction contracts, procurement procedures, and cost management principles.
  • Proficiency in cost estimation software and the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Outstanding communication and negotiation abilities.
  • Capability to work autonomously and collaboratively.
