Monday -Friday, 7am-3:45pm

Menzies Distribution are looking for a Warehouse Operative to join our Menzies Response team.

You'll be working on behalf of
Menzies Distribution Limited and its customers, providing a first-class service with our team in Ashford, Kent.

This role is based on a basic 40 hour week.

Key Responsibilities:

Process:

  • Loading of stock into various types of mailing equipment.
  • Sorting of mail from machine platform, ensuring mail pieces are to the highest quality of standard.
  • Place mail in Royal Mail / DSA 'Bags' or 'Trays' as required
  • Assist with stock movements and stock overs counts.
  • Ensure procedures and guidelines are followed at all times.
  • Ensure housekeeping and health and safety practices ie. Correct PPE are followed, to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Perform all hand enclosing duties as per job/supervisor instructions to fulfil customer's requirements to the highest standard of quality in a cost effective timescale.
  • Manual mail sorting of addressed letters/labels/envelopes/etc as and when required.
  • Maintain accurate records for piecework/job requirements
  • Any other tasks within the appropriate levels of responsibility or as directed by the team leaders and management

Communication:

  • Communicate regularly with Line Leader and team member's (internal customers) to ensure optimal machine operation

Key Skills & Competencies:

  • Must be numerate & literate to understand instructions given
  • Need to work quickly and accurately to ensure no errors and to specific deadlines
  • Knowledge of health and safety within a production environment
  • Flexible to occasionally work extra hours as and when required or assist in other areas of operations as and when required
  • Team working skills
  • Experience of working in a mailing operation desirable particularly Sitma machines
