We are looking for a resilient and friendly Senior Support Worker to join a team that works in partnership with people who use our services, to enable them to live as independently as possible and to be part of their local community.


This role includes:

  • Supporting individuals with personal care
  • Supporting people to complete household tasks such as cleaning and laundry, learning skills, accessing the community in all weathers including swimming, medical appointments, walking, holidays, shopping, meals out
  • Administering medication, handling finances, completing paperwork such as daily reports, monthly consultations, and working file documents
  • Taking part in all compliance checks such as fire safety and health & safety
  • Supporting people to maintain family contact including home visits
  • Contributing to professional meetings such as with social workers
  • Basic IT skills (typing, using word)
  • To maintain health and wellbeing by working with medical professionals to follow a health action plan
  • Must be flexible with working pattern as rota will include earlies, lates, weekends, long days, bank holidays & Christmas, sleepin duties and potentially waking night shifts in the event of staff shortages
  • Supporting manager and staff team in manager's absence


You will have a can do approach and be committed to supporting people in a positive, creative way that enables people to live a fulfilled life.

You will demonstrate best practice and be a role model for the team. You will receive ongoing support to ensure your continued professional development and enthusiasm for the role.


An NVQ or Diploma Level 3 qualification in Health and Social Care is desirable, but a genuine passion for providing person centred support is key to being successful in the role of a Senior Support Worker.

In return, Autism Initiatives will provide you with a full induction and ongoing learning to support you to obtain qualifications pertinent to the role.
