Responsible for: Safe operation of all equipment provided to support the site production process
Client brief: Our client is a long standing family run business specializing in the production and distribution of diary products.
KEY INFORMATION
Reason for vacancy: Increased demand
Contract: Permanent
Basic Salary: £ per annum
Shifts: Monday to Friday 4am to 1pm, 1 in 2 Saturdays also
Breaks: 15-minute morning break, half hour lunch break
Holidays: 32 per annum
Facilities: Canteen, staff parking
Additional: Training available to further your experience
RESPONSIBILITIES
The role
Our client based in Hazel Grove, Stockport is currently recruiting for a Dairy Milk Processor to join their existing Production Team on a permanent basis. The responsibilities of this position are varied and not limited to -
Individual responsibilities
- Milk Processing: Operate and monitor dairy processing equipment to convert raw milk into various dairy products.
- Quality Control: Conduct regular quality checks throughout the processing stages to ensure that products meet industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Sanitation: Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of processing equipment, storage tanks, and production areas according to established protocols to prevent contamination and ensure product safety.
- Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve any issues with equipment or processes that may impact production efficiency or product quality.
- Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels of raw materials and finished products, and coordinate with the supply chain team to ensure continuous production.
- Documentation: Keep accurate records of production activities, quality control measures, and inventory levels for reporting and regulatory compliance purposes.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety procedures and protocols to minimize risks of accidents or injuries in the workplace.
- Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other team members, including supervisors, technicians, and quality assurance personnel, to achieve production targets and maintain product quality.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process optimization, cost reduction, and product quality enhancement, and contribute to the implementation of improvement initiatives.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS
- Previous experience in dairy processing is essential.
- Strong knowledge of dairy processing equipment, sanitation practices, and quality control standards.
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects, and work in a physically demanding environment.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow standard operating procedures.
- Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Understanding of food safety regulations and compliance requirements.
- Commitment to maintaining high standards of product quality and safety.
