Executive Event chefs - Telford

Start date from 1st June ongoing - but can off full time positions in the mean time.

Nearby Locations: Telford, Wolverhampton, Shrewsbury, Shropshire Stoke on Trent, Stafford Some sites can offer accommodation too.
Pay rates from £20 to £25 per hour
Shifts: full time 39 hours plus a week, working mainly 1pm till 9pm with some day shifts offered.
Contract - ongoing full-time position - weekly pay.

Do you have experience working within the Leisure and Hospitality environments? Are you looking for event work during the summer? We have a fantastic ongoing position working for one our clients based within the Telford areas. You will be working within conferencing and leisure establishments supporting kitchen during their peak busy time of the summer months

The working environment
You will be working on site a hotel and conferencing company, and you will be working within a team of chefs and kitchen assistants. Your new role as a executive hospitality and event chef will involve the following:

  • You will be running and managing events during the summer months, will be working with fresh food working with pre-selected menus.
  • You will be working within a team of chefs and kitchen assistants
  • You will need to place orders, and keep stock levels up to date
  • You creating menus and following specs
  • You will take a lead on the costing of functions, menus and beverages
  • You will implement processes and systems to cover: food ordering; portion control; menu development etc
  • You will ensure food is prepared in accordance with the recipe, food hygiene and allergen control requirements.
  • You will liaise with the Event Coordination team to prepare event plans and to order ingredients / supplies accordingly.
  • You oversee the cooking and assembly of dishes - delivering dishes and banquets for, corporate events and private parties in line with the event schedule.
  • You effectively communicate with the front of house team on event days in order to ensure smooth running of events.
  • You must complete all paperwork on site, including all temperatures and documents.

The Commute:
If you have a car and flexible with locations, great, this client can offer onsite parking, and its only 21 minutes' drive away from Telford, a 32-minute drive from Stafford and 45 minutes from Stoke on Trent. The client does have facilities to offer accommodation too if needed.

Requirements and skills:
* Previous experience as a event chef, at least up to Sous/Head Chef
* Flexibility in rotas - must be able to pick up extra shifts due to business needs.
* Great communication and teamwork skills
* Level 2 food hygiene certificate (ideal but not essential as we can provide this at a cost)
* Keen eye for details and takes pride in the work and presentation
* Ability to work under pressure
* Due to certain locations a full UK driving license is required along with own access to a vehicle
* Own chef whites and chef knives

Working times and shifts:
As you can imagine being a chef does mean you are expected to workdays, evenings, and weekends. This client is looking for shifts to be covered between 1pm and 9pm, with some days for prep when needed. Shifts will be across a 7 day period.
