About the Role


We have an exciting opportunity for another radiographer to join us at this busy static site in Colchester - the Turner Diagnostic Centre.

The Turner Diagnostic centre is a new purpose-built multi-modality imaging centre which opened in 2018, and is based in the grounds of the Colchester General Hospital, a busy NHS site which currently has 15 radiographers working across 4 MRI scanners


As a Radiographer at Alliance Medical you will be responsible for adhering to protocol and procedures to produce high quality images and an exceptional standard of patient and customer care.

Required Skills and Experience


This site is ideal for anyone wanting to expand and deepen their MRI knowledge and scanning skills as a wide variety of patients and examinations are scanned - including paediatrics and patients under GA.


Consideration will also be given to the correct applicant if they only possess limited MRI scanning skills but also demonstrate key learning skills, resilience and have the ability to learn and adapt quickly.


To be successful in this role you must have good communication skills both written and verbal, together with good IT and administration skills.

A flexible, organized and enthusiastic attitude is essential.

Purpose Of The Job:

  • Provide a scanning service to the MRI department, optimising care standards for all patients, staff and visitors.
  • Develop skills in line with Training and developmental opportunities and courses.
  • Maintain high standards of Health and Safety in line with current H&S Codes and policies.
  • Carry out other work and duties as the workload may require.

Key Competencies:

  • Excellent rapport with customers and colleagues to provide high standards of care and service
  • Excellent communication and people skills
  • Excellent time management to optimise patient throughput and unit efficiency.
The hours of work are 40 per week, Monday to Sunday


HCPC Radiographer with a minimum of 1 year MRI scanning experience is required, along with the ability to work efficiently, prioritise and adapt workloads on a daily basis.

Proficient IT skills essential. IV skills desirable but training will be provided.
