As Canada Life UK undergoes a transformation to become more customer-focused, the company is seeking a candidate to fill the position detailed below.

Job Purpose

To support the Finance Governance & Controls Manager in ensuring UK Division compliance with ICOFR (Internal Controls over Financial Reporting) regulations and Canadian reporting requirements. This includes overseeing Data Governance standards and providing relevant reports to the Financial Accounting & Reporting Director and the CLUK Chief Financial Officer.

Key Accountabilities

1) Assisting in the ICOFR quarterly and annual certifications process, alongside updating ICOFR documentation liaising with different teams

  • Process Narrative Report (PNR)
  • Risk and Controls Matrix (RACM)
  • EUC controls
  • SAP accounts

2) Supporting Data Governance framework activities and maintaining Data Register

  • Collaborating with business teams to keep individual Data Sets updated
  • Facilitating Data Set attestations
  • Managing and resolving data issues
  • Preparing Data Quality Reports

3) Ensuring General Data Protection Regulation compliance by the Finance team by reviewing and maintaining necessary records

  • Functional Record of Processing Activity (RoPA)
  • Record Retention and Disposal Guide (RR&DG)
  • Data management and deletion
  • Participation in Data Protection Forum

4) Assisting with CLUK Company Policy Attestation process and liaising with Risk team

  • Reviewing evidence to support policy implementation
  • Ensuring compliance with Data Governance policies
  • Keeping policy processes up to date

5) Developing and improving controls and processes in collaboration with the business
