About the Role:

As the Production Shift Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the processing area and leading a team of approximately 100 employees. Your focus will be on achieving daily KPI's, ensuring safety, quality, productivity, and efficiency are maintained.

The ideal candidate must have a flexible approach to work hours, overseeing operations from early mornings to late evenings on a rotating shift basis, including weekends.

Your primary goal will be to ensure smooth operations and timely production to meet customer orders and maintain quality standards. Collaboration with the technical and engineering teams is crucial to address any issues promptly. Strong communication and teamwork skills are essential for success in this role.

Note: Candidates must have the legal right to work in the UK as sponsorship opportunities are not available.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage Shift Production Operations:

  • Oversee production line activities to ensure efficiency and meet daily schedules
  • Coordinate with other managers for seamless production flow
  • Monitor processes to maintain quality and safety standards

Team Leadership:

  • Supervise and motivate staff, providing guidance
  • Conduct performance evaluations and manage schedules
  • Ensure adequate staffing levels

Quality Control:

  • Implement quality control measures and monitor standards
  • Maintain hygiene standards
  • Address and resolve production issues
  • Ensure compliance with regulations

Safety and Compliance:

  • Promote a safety culture

Continuous Improvement:

  • Monitor metrics and report performance
  • Support product changes in line with customer requirements
  • Coordinate with the engineering team for maintenance

About you:

Essential Requirements:

  • Proven experience in poultry/meat processing
  • Operational management and leadership skills
  • Knowledge of Food Safety Legislation
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • IT literacy, including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Experience in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment
  • Self-motivated and proactive
