A Lead Programmer with expertise in C++ is required for this Multi Strategy Hedge Fund based in Central London. Reporting directly to the Head of Real-Time Trading Systems, you will be responsible for the re-engineering of business critical desktop applications to produce low-latency GUI solutions for the desk.

Your role will involve full life cycle development from design, prototyping, to build and implementation, interacting with multiple front and middle office development teams, including Execution, Market Data, Order Gateway, Risk and Analytics, supporting Multi-Asset Systematic and Discretionary desks.

Indicative compensation

Salary £140k-£180k

Bonus ~£50k-£150k based on breadth of skills, seniority, and domain knowledge

Applicants suited to this newly created role require -

  • Minimum 7 years C++ development experience
  • Minimum V14/17 (this environment is V20 based)
  • Expertise in optimizing low latency desktop GUIs
  • Expertise in Visual Studio and Win32 API
  • Expertise in the following UI frameworks MFC, and X-platform offerings Qt &/ wxWidgets
  • Expertise in STL, Multithreading, Concurrency, with metaprogramming preferred
  • Solid understanding of Linux and macOS
  • Bachelors / Masters / PhD in STEM field
  • Excellent communication skills given the full life cycle nature of the role, and multiple technology and business teams you'll engage with
  • Financial markets experience preferred
  • Experience of C# WPF nice to have
