Job summary

As a Senior Pharmacy Technician, you will work with the SEL Medicines Optimisation Team to support the delivery of the SEL ICB medicines agenda. The role will support the work of the SEL Integrated Medicines Optimisation Committee (IMOC) - a multidisciplinary, clinical decision-making forum for medicines related issues and the SEL Integrated Pharmacy Stakeholder Group (IPSG), which provides the pharmacy professional leadership for the SEL Integrated Care System, focusing on medicines value, community pharmacy integration and ways of working. The role will work with the Assistant Director, Integrated Medicines Optimisation where it will be supported by the Senior Leadership Team, the Integrated Medicines Optimisation Team, the wider SEL Medicines Optimisation team and a wide range of healthcare professionals and directorate teams.

You will be joining a well-established medicines optimisation and pharmacy system in Southeast London. The post holder will lead on selected portfolio of areas to support delivery of the medicines optimisation and long term conditions priorities. You will work as part of a collaborative South East London medicines team which will include leading delivery of a portfolio of collaborative Transforming and Integrating Medicines Optimisation areas. Our approach is to work together to harness and build on our collective resources, including staff to drive change.

Main duties of the job

Roles and responsibilities for the post holder will include:

Supporting the medicines optimisation team in the day-to-day functions, including monitoring and auditing of prescribing data, developing clinical treatment pathway, coordinating freedom of information requests and identifying opportunities for safe and cost-effective prescribing.

Supporting and actively contributing to workstreams under the SEL Transforming and Integrating Medicines Optimisation Programme (TIMO). Contribute in their own portfolio areas to developing the SEL TIMO plan through active collaboration across SEL. This includes the SEL IMOC, the IPSG and their sub-groups.

Supporting collaborative and partnership working across the ICS with respect to the management of high-cost medicines excluded from the NHS Payment Scheme, formerly the national tariff.

Planning and organising meetings and supporting the coordination and operation of identified forums/groups/committees as agreed with the Assistant Director, Integrated Medicines Optimisation.

Supporting delivery of, and embedding, inclusive pharmacy professional practice into everyday care for patients and members of the public, to support the prevention of ill-health and address health inequalities within our diverse communities.

Having a role in building working relationships and collaboration with partners, including Place, acute and mental health Trusts in the wider South East London system.

You will be based at 160 Tooley Street in London, with travel to other sites within the ICB as needed. Whilst this role is full time ( hours per week), applications from those who are able to work a minimum of 30 hours per week, or are applying on a job share basis, will also be considered. Please note that applicants should be available to work on Tuesdays and Thursdays, which are critical team and meeting days.

Education and Qualifications

Essential

BTEC/NVQ3 in Pharmaceutical Science or equivalent Registered Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council Relevant post-graduate qualification of at least Diploma level or equivalent experience Management Diploma or Leadership and Management Development Qualification (or equivalent experience)

Experience and Knowledge:
