About the Service

Our service is located in a peaceful and therapeutic 5-bed cottage within a semi-rural community, offering a supportive environment for young people to learn and grow. Situated just outside Mauchline.

In your new role

This is a great opportunity to join a compassionate and trauma-informed team, working directly with young people with diverse needs stemming from their life experiences and childhood challenges. Together, we strive to make every second count and improve outcomes for these individuals. To succeed in this role, you will:

  • Work positively and respectfully with young people to foster good relationships and support their achievements.
  • Collaborate with a team to address the social, emotional, and educational needs of young individuals.
  • Engage young people in domestic tasks to enhance their self-care skills.
  • Write review reports, conduct risk assessments, and contribute to care plans.
  • Engage with parents and partner agencies to uphold the best interests of young people.

You will ideally have:

  • Good understanding of young people's developmental needs and milestones.
  • Prior experience working with children and families.
  • Effective communication and relationship-building skills with young people, parents, and professionals.
  • Proficiency in producing clear written reports and verbally presenting information.
  • Ability to handle challenging situations calmly and objectively.
  • Relevant qualifications in Social Care or a willingness to pursue them.
