ASA are currently recruiting for experienced Support Workers to support our clients in Edinburgh and surrounding areas.


Your typical day could include working with elderly, disabled, long-term ill and those with learning difficulties; the role is extremely varied and every day is different.

Work covers all areas of Edinburgh and can include a variety of shift patterns, suited to your flexibility.

The duties on each shift will depend on each individual care plan and requirements however some typical responsibilities may include;

  • Assisting with immediate personal needs of residents such as washing, dressing and personal hygiene
  • Use of moving equipment along with safe manual moving and handling
  • Light domestic duties where required
  • Supporting at mealtimes
  • Encouraging participation in planned activities and events
  • Assisting with medication
  • Accompanying to appointments, days out and any other events


Great Care and Support Workers come from lots of different backgrounds but you must be confident in your ability while lone working and be able to prioritise your tasks.

Communication plays a huge part in this role so you must have strong listening skills and be able to communicate clearly whether it be written or verbal.
