We are currently looking for an operative to join the teams who safely and effectively run our sites across North Yorkshire.
Our Harrogate site is open 6 days a week (closed on Wednesdays), offering essential services for the immediate local communities.
We currently have vacancy for either one full-time person to join the team, or two part-time, as detailed below.Full-time, permanent, 5 days' out of 6 days', 40 hours per week.
Part-time, permanent, 3 days' out of 6 days', 24 hours per week.
You will help maximise the quality and number of materials separated for recycling, plan and organise the activities on site, be the face of Yorwaste to on site visitors and, where required, deputise for the Area Supervisor.
**- Helping the public use the site in a safe manner, adhering to all Health and Safety guidance.
- Providing friendly, informative and professional customer service.
- Protecting yourself and your team by promoting high standards of health and safety.
- Safely operating equipment and machinery and reporting any faults and issues.
- Working with commercial traders, providing advice and handling payments.
- Reporting unauthorised waste depositing and promoting environmental sustainability.
- Supporting other HWRC teams if required as one large team across North Yorkshire.
We require you to have the ability to reliably travel to our site which is not accessible by public transport.

What we can offer
In return, we are offering an hourly rate of £10.70 per hour working approximately 40 hours per week for full-time, or 24 hours for part-time, working approximately 8-hour shifts.
This is a permanent role working 5 or 3 days' out of 7. Our Harrogate site operates 6 days a week, including bank holidays, therefore availability over this schedule is essential. There will also be a requirement to cover holidays and sickness when required.
