The Main Duties of the Role are as follows:

  • Process Analysis: Assist in the analysis of current brewing and distilling processes to identify areas for improvement.
  • Yield Optimization: Support the implementation of techniques to maximize alcohol yield.
  • Efficiency Improvements: Help streamline operations to reduce energy consumption and waste.
  • Technology Integration: Participate in the integration of advanced brewing and distilling technologies.
  • Sustainability Initiatives: Contribute to the development and implementation of sustainable practices in distillation processes.
  • Data Collection and Analysis: Collect and analyse data to monitor process performance and identify trends.
  • Quality Control: Assist in ensuring that all products meet the required quality standards.
  • Provide support for ongoing projects at both Glencadam and Tomintoul distilleries.
  • Staff Training: Participate in training sessions to improve knowledge and understanding of new processes and technologies.
  • Prepare reports on process improvements, project progress, and performance metrics.

What we are looking for:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Brewing and Distilling.
  • Strong understanding of brewing and distilling processes, chemical engineering principles, and quality control practices.
  • Analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed recommendations.
  • Proficiency in using relevant software tools for process analysis and data management.
  • Strong problemsolving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience: Prior internship or work experience in a brewing or distilling environment.
  • Certifications: Relevant industry certifications (e.g., Institute of Brewing & Distilling qualifications).
  • Motivated: Demonstrates a strong work ethic and a proactive approach to learning and development.
  • Innovative: Open to new ideas and willing to suggest and try innovative solutions.
  • Adaptable: Able to adjust to changing priorities and work effectively in a dynamic environment.
  • Team Player: Willing to collaborate and contribute to team goals.
