Armishaws Group is a removals and storage operation servicing domestic and commercial clients.

As the Senior Transport Manager your duties and responsibilities will vary based on the Company's requirements but will include:

The Position

  • Proactively seek solutions to operational problems, identifying solutions and implementing where required.
  • Daily operating of the fleet of vehicles and staff, how these vehicles travel and how they operate will dictate the operational efficiencies and in turn the companies profitability.
  • Liaising with the transport assistant / workshops / sales and management.
  • Working with you transport assistance to maintain Vehicle standards, maintenance schedules, repairs, staff levels, Regulations, time directives and compliance.
  • Ensuring vehicles are available to the correct standard and taking action when needed with contractors who service and repair the vehicles.
  • Ensuring total compliance of departmental Driving Regulations, Working Time Directive; taking action when needed.
  • Compliance with company procedures and statutory obligations for vehicle operations, health & safety and other legislation.
  • Managing depots, their effectiveness, efficiency, cleanliness etc

Requirements:

  • Good formal education.
  • Transport operations qualifications (CPC National/International or equivalent).
  • Previous experience in managing transport/supply chain operations.
  • Knowledge of the Removals and storage industry is an advantage.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills, an ability to balance conflicting demands.
  • Good knowledge of transport regulations.
  • Ability to work under pressure in an ever changing environment.
  • Good IT skills, including MS Word and Excel.
  • Committed, reliable and flexible team player.
  • Ability to prioritise workload to ensure tasks are completed in a timely manner.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
This position is office based at our Head office in Wincanton, Somerset.

Salary is negotiable and based on experience / skill and aptitude

From £32,000.00 per year
