The position reports to the Group Finance Director, to be based in Leeds. The role will ideally suit someone who is a qualified ACA/ACCA with significant post-qualification experience, currently working within a large commercial environment, who is looking for a challenging and rewarding role in financial leadership, accounting, reporting, and control.

Your core duties will include:

  • Providing strategic leadership and direction to the global finance team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality financial reporting and control.
  • Overseeing the preparation of consolidated financial statements prepared on an IFRS basis.
  • Managing the consolidation of financial results for statutory reporting.
  • Ensuring the accuracy and completeness of financial statements of centrally controlled entities, including accounts for companies in a variety of countries.
  • Continuously reviewing and documenting group accounting policies and practices.
  • Overseeing the preparation of financial statements of the group's subsidiary UK entities.
  • Managing the preparation of quarterly submissions to our international parent.
  • Liaising with external auditors to ensure smooth delivery of audited financial statements in accordance with the group timetable.
  • Leading, managing, and developing the group finance teams (Americas, UK & Europe, Middle East, India and Asia Pacific) to ensure accurate and timely delivery of high-quality financial statements.
  • Providing training and mentorship to the wider finance team to ensure that they are kept abreast of all changes in IFRS and are continuously developing their skills.
  • Driving continuous improvement in the quality, timeliness, and efficiency of financial reporting, working closely with the wider finance team and IT team.

What skills and attributes are we looking for from you:

  • Significant post-qualification experience, ideally with exposure to group financial control and reporting in a large commercial environment.
  • Proven track record of providing strategic leadership to finance teams.
  • Strong technical accounting skills, with a thorough understanding of IFRS.
  • The ability to review and understand financial systems and processes with a view to continuous improvement.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with key stakeholders and to influence at a senior level.
  • The ability to inspire, motivate and develop team members to achieve their full potential.
