Penguin Recruitment is currently supporting a London based client who is seeking a new HIU Engineer to form part of an established team that maintains large district heating systems across London (within the M25)


The Domestic Heating Engineer/ HIU Engineer will be required to work in and around the Central/North London area attending communal dwellings, you will be responsible for the service and repair of communal heating systems.

You will be tasked with dutiessuch as repair and install commercial heating parts to communal dwelling systems, replacing thermostatic valves, pump, radiators and other associated equipment, repair of pipework and attend breakdowns.


Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring all Quality Management and Compliance Documentation for HIU Servicing and reactive repair activities is correct and complete for each site
  • Provide technical assistance to clients, and work colleagues within whilst fulfilling and meeting both Quality Standards and HSE Objectives
  • Closely manage customer HSE objectives and Quality Standards and ensure the adoption of Safe Working Practices during the maintenance and repair of the plant
  • Make effective recommendations for continuous improvement
  • Adopt company HSE Policies, Procedures and Objectives, and ensure they are achieved throughout area of responsibility
  • Servicing Hydraulic Interface Units to ensure the HIU is energy efficient and to minimise breakdowns until the next service interval
  • React to Hydraulic Interface Units to investigate the cause and effect and ensure a firsttime repair
  • Be versatile to support all Department works, Servicing HIUs and reacting to HIU breakdowns when needed. Support Energy Centre planned or reactive works
  • Ensure the Energy Centres are Safe, Clean and Painted ready for any client Visitation at any time


Ideally, the Heating Engineer will be a time-served engineer and they must hold over 5 years of industry experience to be considered.

You will hold a minimum of NVQ / C&G L2 in Plumbing & Heating or equivalent.
