Responsibilities:


As a Functional Safety Engineer, you will be part of a team developing GPU software targeted towards the automotive market.


Day to day activities would include:

  • Work on Functional Safety aspect of development through all stages of the development cycle to lead up to successful certification assessment.
  • Work with hardware and FW design engineers to characterise architectures and derive requirement specifications
  • Work with test engineers to define test strategies to cover failure modes identified
  • Perform conformance reviews, help the team to resolve the nonconformities, and continuously excel FuSa processes towards improved efficiency and increased alignment across Arm Software, Hardware, and tools.
  • Plan, coordinate and supervise Functional Safety assessments and drive open actions to closure, meeting Arm customer requirements for safety products, on time.
  • Contribute towards definition and improvement of Functional Safety methodologies we use.

Skills & Experience required:

  • 5+ years of experience performing functional safety design for electronics and embedded systems
  • Expertise with safety critical standards such as ISO 26262, IEC 61508, MISRA-C coding guidelines, SW Safety requirements management etc.
  • Expertise to drive DFMEA (HW & SW), SW FTA, DFA and other software safety analysis and techniques
  • Excellent team working skills, drive, selfmotivation and focus on results.

Desirable:

  • Experience of working with firmware for MCU platforms.
  • Experience in ASPICE, AUTOSAR would be beneficial
  • Experience using requirements management tools such as Dimension RM
  • Experience of leading and managing teams.
  • Understanding of RTOS for MCUs.
