Project Electrical Engineer

We are currently seeking a Hardware Engineer to be part of our engineering design team at our offices in Congleton, Cheshire.

The main focus of this role is the technical development of industrial automation solutions within our diverse teams, involved in designing, implementing, and commissioning PLC and SCADA systems for various industrial applications from inception to completion.

We prefer candidates with experience in Siemens and/or Rockwell PLC equipment, as well as control system networks, Inverter Drive, and I/O solutions.

Joining our skilled team, some key responsibilities would include, but are not limited to:

  • The creation and maintenance of URS, FDS, and related design documents.
  • Working closely with clients to ensure functional design specifications meet requirements.
  • Developing hardware aspects of control systems, including PLC connectivity, I/O, Drives, HMIs, SCADA, and Safety Systems.
  • Producing drawing packages using AutoCAD Electrical for GA's, Parts Lists, Schematics, and more.
  • Conducting visual inspections, testing, pre-configuring drives, client support, and maintaining test records.
  • Supervising electrical installations on-site.
  • Commissioning on-site.
  • Handling operational faults and performing necessary corrective actions.
  • Carrying out planned maintenance tasks.
  • Providing system users with training.
  • Researching and developing new equipment to align with future strategies.
  • Participating in project meetings and reviews positively.
  • Managing project milestones and time effectively in coordination with the Project Manager.
  • Monitoring project progress and addressing emerging issues promptly.
  • Reporting budget information for projects.
  • Engaging with stakeholders during project meetings.

Key requirements for candidates include, but are not limited to:

  • A strong educational background, preferably in computer science or engineering.
  • Proven experience in project lifecycle within industrial automation technology.
  • Technical expertise in electrical engineering and software development.
  • Exceptional client-facing and internal communication abilities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Organizational skills with a keen eye for detail and ability to multitask effectively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and its suite of products.
