UKAEAs Apprenticeship Scheme will allow you to gain the technical knowledge practical experience and wider skills and behaviours needed for your immediate job role and future career. The successful apprentice will gain this through the combination of formal offthejob training and the opportunity to apply these skills in a real work environment through onthejob training. 

The Role

Are you looking for an exciting opportunity to make a difference Join our team and contribute to the future of fusion energy. As a Level 3 Engineering (Metrology) Apprentice you will play a pivotal role in learning about component design manufacturing installation and maintenance according to engineering standards and regulations providing ongoing engineering and technical support for the UKAEA site and participate in specialized metrology projects for key UKAEA site initiatives.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Complete national academic qualification as defined by the apprenticeship training standard: Mechatronics Maintenance Technician / Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education
  • Attend designated training provider develop and attain a good knowledge of technical skills.
  • Represent the UKAEA Organisation and attend external outreach and careers events.

Qualifications :

  • 5 GCSES A*C (94) including Maths and English.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrate an interest and aptitude for chosen area of work.
